About Transylvania

PumpkinMania at Transylvania

PumpkinMania is celebrating its fifth anniversary of welcoming the community to Transy’s campus. This year, we expect more than 500 jack-o’-lanterns to shine on the steps of Old Morrison! The pumpkins will be lit on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. and remain on display through Halloween night.

We encourage the public to participate by donating a carved pumpkin for the display. As this year’s festivities coincide with the Breeders’ Cup Festival, we want to show the world that Lexington knows how to celebrate Halloween, especially at a place called Transylvania University!

Here is the schedule for the festivities:

  • Sunday, Oct. 25, 1-7 p.m.
Pumpkin carving in Haupt Circle (Broadway between Third and Fourth Streets)
Open to the public. Please bring a pumpkin to carve and donate. Carving tools and stencils will be provided.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 27, 6 p.m.
Trick-or-Treat in Old Morrison Circle (Third Street between Broadway and Upper).
Trick-or-treat stations will be set up for children, and there will be Halloween goodies, face painting and hot chocolate.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 27, 7 p.m.
    Pumpkin Lighting

The public can donate a carved pumpkin by dropping it off in front of Old Morrison on Third Street anytime between Sunday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 1 p.m.
