Lexington Legatees: Contemporary Printmaking in the Bluegrass
Location: Morlan Gallery, Mitchel Fine Arts Center

Lexington has a vibrant small press industry comprised of artists working in a variety of print media including letter press, wood prints, and silk screens. Lexington Legatees: Contemporary Printmaking in the Bluegrass celebrates our “embarrassment of riches” in this month-long exhibition featuring three art talks and culminating in a closing holiday party and print sale on Dec. 5, 5-7 p.m. Closed for Thanksgiving Nov. 21-25.

Creative Intelligence Lecture Series: David Brown Kinloch, Lock 7 Hydro Partners LLC

David Brown Kinloch, developer and president of Lock 7 Hydro Partners, LLC, will talk about Mother Ann Lee Hydroelectric Station which is located at Lock and Dam 7 on the Kentucky River on land once owned by a Shaker community headed by Mother Ann Lee. Free and open to the public.

Inaugural presentation of the Transylvania University College Democrats "Left of Center" speaker series. The lecture will focus on how the United States was able to establish a world order after WWII, how it was like and unlike previous imperial orders, and the consequences of it on the 2008 financial crisis. Dr. Jeff Freyman is a professor of political science and director of The Center for Liberal Education at Transylvania.His areas of research include globalization, comparative democratization, comparative political economy, and Marxism. Free and open to the public.
