|A Different Perspective on Constitution Day (event planning meeting)|

As a follow-up to Constitution Day, an event discussing the Constitution from the point of view of a newly naturalized citizen, as well as other refugee issues, will be in late October. A meeting to plan this event will be for anyone interested in helping out.

Michele Norris is a host and special correspondent for National Public Radio and previously was co-host of All Things Considered, public radio’s longest-running national program. In 2012 she developed The Race Card Project, an initiative to foster a wider conversation about race in America. Her book, The Grace of Silence: A Memoir, focuses on how America talks about race in the wake of Barack Obama’s presidential election and explores her own family’s racial legacy. A reception and book signing will immediately follow the presentation. This lecture is part of our year-long program Still Overcoming: Striving for Inclusiveness and is free and open to the public.
