Catalog 2015-2016

Transylvania's philosophy program prepares students to think critically and understand the complex ideas, theories, and practices that inform our contemporary world. This is accomplished through a pluralistic study of the history of philosophy (both Western and Asian), training in logic, and a heavy dose of ethical theory. Our ethics and social-political courses are strong on theory but also address pressing issues in medical and bioethics, law, sex and gender, and the environment.
