Patti Heying has been working in theater for more than 20 years. She completed her M.F.A. at the University of Louisville in performance with an emphasis in voice and dialects. A Kentucky native, Heying spent four years in Minnesota teaching, performing, and directing for an educational theater company. Returning to Kentucky, she taught as an adjunct faculty member in the theater programs at the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville.
She currently performs, coaches dialects, and directs in the local theater community. Heying co-directed Dearly Beloved; The Vows of a Lincoln Legacy for the Kentucky Historical Society in 2006, which was filmed by KET and has aired on Kentucky Life hosted by Dave Shuffett. She also directed the Kentucky premier of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde for SummerFest at the Lexington Arboretum in 2009 and The Foreigner at the Woodford County Theatre in 2010.
